CONCEPT

The idea came to me quite suddenly, as a result of my passion for Perspex materials. I simply started thinking of an interesting way I could use this material to create an exciting project.

EXPERIMENTATON

RESEARCH

I started researching its physical properties and the concept of “refraction” came in my mind:“Refraction is the change in direction of propagation of a wave due to a change in its transmission medium”.

In other words, when a Perspex sheet is cut or engraved, the affected area catches the light much more thank the rest of the material, resulting in shining surface. This phenomenon is often exploited to create shops and public structures signs.
